Are you wondering why you aren’t getting the positions that you apply for? Healthcare travel in 2024 is trending to be more competitive and requires quicker response time from recruiters and applicants to land available assignments.
How to Find and Obtain Proper Licenses
QUESTION
Greg –
I am new to Travel Nursing and find obtaining proper licenses confusing. Can you help?
ANSWER
I sure can!
The eNLC enables Healthcare Workers whose primary residence is in an eNLC member State and who meet the Uniform Licensure Requirements to apply for a multi-state license. This license will allow them to practice across the US in States that are members of the eNLC without obtaining additional licenses thus making their nursing more affordable and convenient. It also enables healthcare workers to rapidly respond to and provide vital services in locations experiencing a critical need like a natural disaster or medical emergency.
Currently 41 states are participating: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington state, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
Pennsylvania has passed legislation to join the compact status; however, the program is not yet fully implemented. The projected date for full implementation of eNLC compact status is late 2024.
Check out www.nursecompact.com for updates and additional information. Note the definition of “primary residence” and the new “60-Day Rule” for licensure for those who may have or are planning to move to a new home state.
I hope this helps!
