Gotta LOVE That Smile!
Marco L. is one dynamic CVICU RN. Not only is his love of nursing special, he also has the rare distinction of holding an additional specialization in Medical Surgical Nursing. Marco shares that nursing was an obvious career choice for him because he loves helping others – in particular helping others to heal. And, he comes from a family of nurses – including his Mother and his Aunts. However, he shares, it was the Hospice Nurse that cared for his mother that provided particular inspiration for his career choice.
A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Marco’s nursing career is seven years strong. He learned about Convergence Medical Staffing from another travel nurse, Sherri J, (featured traveler for January 2017) and has proven to be a star employee from day one. He is currently working his third assignment in Dothan, Al.
Marco shares that he has really enjoyed his time on his assignments and has developed some strong friendships along the way with people who genuinely miss him and who he misses as well. His advise for travelers? “Always remain open to help the hospital where you are working on assignment. Even though you are temporary, you are definitely part of the hospital’s team. If you are not a team player, you can’t expect to be accepted by the team you’re on.” No wonder he is missed!
My recruiter, Christie, has always helped me decide on the best assignments for me, based on MY needs, not her needs. Marco continues, Everyone that I have ever spoken with at Convergence is the very definition of professionalism. They are always friendly, they listen well, and are timely with their responses. Most importantly, they carry through with whatever they promise you. I would rank Convergence a ’10 out of 10′ as a travel nursing company.
Marco’s advise to those thinking about a Travel career? “If you are a nurse, regardless of your years of nursing experience and are thinking about traveling…do it immediately! ( tip: Air BnB has the best housing). Although travel nursing is like taking a step into the unknown, find the ‘right’ recruiter for you and take that step. The pay, working options, and perks are definitely worth it!”
Thank you Marco! We feel privileged to be part of the team that makes that special smile happen!
