Personality Plus
With over 15 years of Emergency Room and Home Health experience under her belt, this Cleveland, Ohio nurse decided to take to the road. Why? Well, in our opinion, Cleveland wasn’t large enough for her wonderful personality!
Meet Yolanda W-M, a highly skilled RN with a personality leaving you wanting more each and every time you speak with her. Yolanda is currently on assignment in the St. Charles, MO area. Though her specialization is in the ER, Yolanda will tell you that her specialty is instead “caring for my patients and saving lives.” Spoken like a true nurse!
Yolanda entered Travel Nursing because she wanted to see new places and experience new challenges in her field as well as in her life. She says about herself: “I’m a fun-loving person who takes pride in what I do related to patient care and practically everything else as well.” That may explain why at her last assignment, the nursing unit threw her a going away party to wish her good luck!
We loved Yolanda immediately! She was so excited about her first assignment, she applied for a nursing license for the wrong state. No problem. Yolanda laughs about it now and says that state will be the next place she will Travel!
When asked why she selected Convergence as her employer, she said, “I am a very precise and straight forward person and I liked the transparency that Convergence uses with their communication. Their answers match my research (yes, that’s a test…”) and that left a good impression on me when deciding who to work with. My instincts have been correct. My relationship with the company is strong because they do what they say they will do and there are no ‘surprises’. They are helpful with the licensure process and resourceful with certification renewals. They steer me in the right direct and never let me down. They also understand nurses well and provide resolutions to issues quickly and fairly.”
Yolanda continues, “I also like being treated like family. My recruiter, Mo, is available 24/7 and is highly responsive to anything that I need. In fact, on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being highest) for the best pay, response time, and honesty, I give the company a 15! Convergence ROCKS!
Yolanda’s advice to travel nurses is to “take each assignment seriously. If any issues occur, contact your recruiter and work with him or her for a resolution. If you have to fight, scream, and yell, you are working for the wrong company. Work hard, have fun, and enjoy your time with the various personality you meet along your Travels. Travel Nursing is a beautiful, rewarding journey.”
Well said Yolanda. By the way… WE think you are an incredible person, expert nurse, and we treat you like family because you are.
