New To Traveling And Handling It Like A PRO!
Lisa J., a Critical Care RN for the past 18 years, “found” her love for healthcare while working as an EMT. Prior to EMT training, Lisa spent 15 years as a Customer Service Representative for a manufacturing company. Originally from Decatur, AL, Lisa is currently working in Birmingham, AL. Although new to Travel Nursing, (six months!) her vast customer service experience and her love for her calling have enabled Lisa to blend perfectly with staff members at her assignments, and become a model employee for Convergence. Our office staff enjoys her humor and positive attitude, and we respect and admire her clinical excellence.
“I love the variety of how different places perform patient care. It’s a true learning experience that I believe enhances my own skill level. I also have met some really incredible folks on the road as well.” Lisa says that at her assignments so far, there is always that one patient that she bonds with that makes her assignments special.
As far as becoming a traveler? Lisa says:
It’s tough being out there on the road alone. You need someone who is responsive and supportive – both the Recruiter and his Company. Convergence does both! (They) make every effort to make you happy. They take care of you, are approachable, and make your assignments highly personal. I always appreciate their quick response time and my Recruiter’s availability to me. He held my hand when I began traveling and has been supportive of my every need since I started. (I would give him a “10”!)
Lisa’s advice to other Travelers?
“Make sure the Travel company is secure and your Recruiter can “walk the talk”. Money ranks high on our (Traveler’s) list, but your personal relationship with your Travel Company and your Recruiter means everything with your success. Find the Recruiter who want to work with YOU instead of a Recruiter who just wants another traveler on their payroll”.
Many, many thanks to you Lisa! We love working with you and are so happy that the feeling is mutual!
