Q: Greg - I am new to Travel Nursing and find obtaining proper licenses confusing. Can you help?

This RN Loves the Travel Life
Our Featured Traveler for May is a Kentucky native that has been in healthcare for over 18 years, an RN specializing in Med Surg.
Leslie N. loves seeing new places, learning from different walks of life, and adding new care techniques to her toolbox but family obligations did not allow her to fulfill her dream of travel nursing until recently. Pictured just left of the new graduate in her family, Leslie now can take her skills “on the road” and is loving travel life.
I really like the spontaneity of the travel lifestyle and the ability to be able to provide for my family while experiencing new places. I also like the idea that I can be close to home or go as far as I want based on what my family needs.
Leslie knew early on in her life that she wanted to work in the medical field: “Learning new things and helping others has always been a strong desire for me.” We asked Leslie what she felt was most satisfying about being a Med Surg RN, and she replied: “I really like working with brain injury patients, helping them to feel safe, and building a relationship with them that allows the best-case quality of life for them.” Hard work even on a good day.
Serendipitously, Leslie’s Recruiter, Haley, is from a town in Kentucky not far from where Leslie grew up. “Haley is awesome. At anytime I need, she is willing to help me and get answers to my questions. She is always in my corner and makes my assignments all that they have the potential to be.”
What advise does Leslie have for other travelers? “Follow your heart today because what today offers may not be the case tomorrow. See new places. You only live once!”
Wise words from a wise lady. Thank you for the hard work you do, Leslie! We know your patients are grateful, and so are we.
